Urgent Need at Ukraine Border

As thousands of Ukrainian refugees stream across the border into northern Romania, the team from United Aid Foundation is filling important needs.

Virtually all those who have fled bombs and missiles have traveled many miles and waited days to cross the border.

Once they arrive, their needs are simple:

           ·          A bottle of water

           ·          A cup of soup, a bowl of cereal, or a yogurt

           ·          Toothbrush and toothpaste

           ·          Soap and wash cloth

           ·          Diapers

           ·          Feminine hygiene products

The United Aid Foundation team has coordinated with the local government and ordinary citizens to help meet the needs of the mostly women and children who cross from the borders of Ukraine and Moldova into Romania. Our team spends many hours a day purchasing supplies.

Ukrainians receive instructions on accessing shelter

We also support local shelters where families may stay anywhere from days to weeks. Many must wait and see when they can plan to return home.

Additional needs include

            ·          Food

            ·          Water

            ·          Blankets

            ·          Beds

            ·          Toilet paper

            ·          Pellets for heating systems

            ·          Cleaning supplies

            ·          Medicines 

Our team has also purchased candy—often the only thing that brings a smile to the faces of anxious children.

Additionally, United Aid Foundation has provided washers, dryers, and refrigerators.

United Aid Foundation is also hosting 3 families in the children’s home in Botoșani, Romania, that United Aid Foundation supported for many years. We will continue to provide heat, water, electricity, food, and water for the foreseeable future.

The outpouring of support from our Romanian partners and the gratitude expressed by the Ukrainians the team helps has been overwhelming.
