HAITI
UAF EARTHQUAKE RESPONSE
When a catastrophic earthquake hit Haiti in 2010, United Aid Foundation was one of the first organizations to send teams of surgeons, nurses and nurse anesthetists into the area.
We are still there.
In the first difficult days United Aid Foundation volunteers performed surgeries in overcrowded hospitals and tent cities.
And we remained to help the people rebuild. Literally.
Haiti had a shortage of housing before the earthquake. Afterwards the situation became even dire.
United Aid Foundation has kept a consistent presence in Haiti since 2010.
Our Haiti effort is led by board member Mike Wnek and partners at Hope for Haiti Healing.
Mike leads teams of volunteers from the United States building quality homes for those still displaced by the earthquake, and for earthquake amputees. Our teams purchase as many supplies from Haitian stores as possible and hire local labor.
United Aid Foundation is dedicated to helping our Haitian friends achieve the health and homes every one deserved.
